  • Who is SDS designed for?
SDS is ideal for busy working parents who wish to homeschool their teens but have limited time to devote to planning and teaching. It's also perfect for teenagers who may not thrive in traditional classroom settings or who need more flexibility in their learning schedule.
  • How can I get started with SDS?
To get started, you can enroll in our Self-Directed Success Homeschool Launchpad program, designed to guide you and your teen through the initial steps of setting up a homeschooling plan. For a captivating, gamified course specifically focused on mastering the 12 Self-Directed Success Skills, check out our Quest program. You can also schedule a consultation with a Success Coach to explore these options and discuss what best suits your specific requirements.
  • My teen isn't naturally self-motivated. Is Self-Directed Success suitable for her?
Many teens have yet to discover their self-direction, and that's where Self-Directed Success can make a significant impact. Our programs are designed to nurture and develop self-directed learning skills. It's not just about where your teen currently stands in terms of motivation or self-discipline, but more about guiding them towards becoming more autonomous and engaged learners. With SDS, your teen will receive the support and tools necessary to grow into a self-directed learner.

Scholar’s Quest was built with reluctant learners in mind! The gamified approach—with real-life quests, XP, and levels—keeps teens engaged and excited. Even teens who’ve struggled with apathy will find the structure and rewards compelling.
  • Who checks the assignments or grades the tasks?
Scholar’s Quest is designed to foster independence and accountability. Here’s how it works: Teens complete activities and challenges tied to real-life skills and post a link or evidence of their work within the course platform. They are on the honor system to check tasks off as complete. This helps them take ownership of their progress. As a parent, you’ll receive weekly support emails outlining the tasks for the week. During your accountability check-in meeting, you can ask your teen to share their completed work with you. This approach not only builds accountability but also strengthens your teen’s confidence in managing their responsibilities.
  • Will this work if my teen has unique challenges, like ADHD or anxiety?
Yes. Scholar’s Quest has been designed to support teens with diverse needs. Its structured, self-paced approach helps reduce overwhelm, while gamification keeps things light and engaging. If your teen faces significant challenges, this program works well alongside a broader support system.
  • What kind of support is provided during the program?
Your teen will have unlimited messaging support throughout the 4 weeks. If they have questions or need clarification, they can reach out within the course platform, and I’ll respond within one business day. As a parent, you’ll receive weekly support emails with tips and guidance to help you navigate the program and empower your teen without micromanaging.
  • Is there a guarantee?
Yes! We want you to feel confident in your decision. If, after starting the program, you feel it’s not the right fit for your teen, you can request a full refund (email office@self-directedsuccess.com) within the first 7 days. No questions asked.
